The Sun Also Sets

People have been complaining of long, boring posts. I have been trying, but could not write small posts. Napolean Bonaparte once said, "Un bon croquis vaut mieux qu'un long discours". So I thought I'd not write this time, but let pictures speak.

Here are a few captures of the Bangalore sky at sunset with different modes on my new camera.

PS: Any references to Anadi's post and to Hemingway's masterpiece are purely coincidental. :)

PPS: Napolean's quote literally translates to: "A good sketch is better than a long speech", which later evolved into "A picture is worth a thousand words".

fundooo yaar....Can't believe its Bangalore! Great Photography I must say....

Aur Bhaiya, French ka translation bhi kar dete (I don't want to use google translator)....maine IIT mein German hi seekhi thi (along with you and VIrmani)...Remember Aditi Ray and the nightout of preparations ? All I can say now is "Woher Komen Sie"

You know what...I did translate it using google. Am surprised that Napolean said that...

So you still seem to remember our favorite quote from SURA...:)

These words are going to be ingrained in my memory for a long long time...:D:D:D

Anadi,

Thanks for appreciating my tenderfoot attempts at photography.

With the little knowledge about sunsets I have without google, I can classify them into two categories: (a) the sun setting into the sea, and (b) the sun setting on land (okay, now that I think of it, this can be subcategorized into the horizon on (i) man-made features and (ii) natural contours). So Bangalore and Delhi must have similar sunsets.

Anyways, yes, I've updated the blog with the English translation of Napolean's quote...I had to use Babelfish to translate "Woher kommen sie?" into "where do you come from?", and I still cannot recall Aditi Ray :(

Aditi Ray, How can you forget her ?
Prof's daughter and the only genuine student in our German Language class jiski cheating karke hum log pass hue the...(I know me and Virmani did)...I think notes bhi liye the pehle

Anadi, I now recall we used to copy from Aditi Ray's, even I did--couldn't have passed German without her, but I am still totally unable to recollect how did she look.

उन्मुक्त जी,

Recent blogposts I read

"A picture is worth a thousand words" कम से कम इन चिट्ठियों के चित्रों के लिये उपयुक्त है।

Nice pictures coming from a novice. First picture has been made into 3 different shades ? :-)
And the last one is also from the same angle. Right?

Now that you have a camera, will look forward to many more pictures in future.

Never knew B'lore can look so beautiful. Sunset/sunrises are always my favourites. In fact, I have quite a few of them..as per your categories. Will share them sometime.

Cuckoo,

Thanks. However, if you look closely, you'll realize these are three separate pictures and not different shades of one. Only that they've been clicked from the same place within a couple of minutes, with different shooting modes, as I mentioned in the post above also.

The fourth one is from quite a different angle, at a different zoom level, clicked from two stories higher, and half an hour later.

The colurs are self reflective of the intricacies of the predominant lacerated society..... dying in the abyss ocean of selfishness and sardonic selfless existence....

Vikas:

Thanks. That was quite a poetic compliment.
